My name is Brian Brunckhorst also known as “Mr.Laundromat”. I’ve been buying and operating coin operated laundromats for over seven (7) years. During that time I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t as far as buying and operating laundromats.
Since I started investing in laundromats, I’ve been able to:
- Retire from Corporate America
- Increase my net worth to over US$1 million
- Generate an annual net income over US$250,000
- Spend more quality time with my wife and children.
Things weren’t always like this though.
How I Got Started
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was called into a Engineering Department Meeting at a start-up company in Silicon Valley. During that meeting, the Vice-President of Engineering told all of us that we would not have our jobs at the end of the month.
I will never forget the anxiety I felt driving home that night as I wondered how I would be able to provide for my wife and three children. Getting laid off from my job was a rude wake up call as reality hit me right between the eyes.
That day, I truly realized no matter how hard I worked or how much I knew, I would always be vulnerable. I could get laid off again; there was no true job security.
It was at this point, I became determined to never let my job be our family’s sole source of income. The only way out of this quandry was to start my own business and be my own boss.
This was a bit of a problem though. Up to until this point, my track record in business was not stellar. I had tried many things, but was not yet successful in any of my previous ventures.
Things Will Be Different This Time
I looked at several different businesses — everything from fast food franchises to dating services. However, I finally settled on the coin laundromat business. All the other businesses felt like I was buying myself another job. I would have to work full-time in the business even though I was the boss. Frankly, I didn’t want to work that hard!
With a laundromat, once I got it up and running, it would practically run itself. This business was my ticket to living the lifestyle I always dreamed of while working part-time in my business.
Learning the Hard Way
Nothing beats the school of hard knocks. Even after I decided the laundromat business was my ticket out of Corporate America, I found myself faced with the daunting challenge of learning everything about this industry and the business.
After I beefed up my education, I looked at over a dozen stores before pulling the trigger. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in my analysis. That one little mistake caused me to over pay for the store and lose over a thousand in monthly cash flow.
Fortunately, I recovered from that mistake. I had a plan to turn around the business and ensure my first laundromat was pumping cash like crazy. Within six months, was netting $4200 in positive cash flow. And the best part was I was spending 10 hours or less a week running the business.
From this one store, I’ve moved on to acquire several more. During this time, I’ve developed and refined a proven system to help anyone get into this business the right way. I can teach you how to find a good laundromat and how to evaluate the business properly.
